Breaking Away from Gender Role Expectations

In our society each gender is assigned a role which has some expectations associated with it. These result in gender stereotyping. We face this stereotyping almost everywhere like home, work, society & with self. This makes it very challenging for women entrepreneurs in growing their startups. A few examples are expecting women to be the caregiver at home, assuming women would quit work at some point or the other and not taking them seriously etc. Times are changing and the shift in these gender roles has started. More and more women are challenging these stereotypes and proving them wrong. WE February at Bangalore is focused on celebrating this shift. To inspire and equip more women entrepreneurs with the strength and courage needed to handle these issues and come out successful.
